Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stressed on the need to present Gautam Buddha’s birthplace Lumbini before the world as the origin of Buddhism. He said that the scholars, monks and researchers should be actively engaged to disseminate Buddhist thought, philosophy and literatures.
While giving his concluding remarks at the two-day conference in Lumbini, PM Oli shared that the government was willing to develop Lumbini as the ‘international peace city’ and a place of creed for Buddhists and all who love Buddhism. He noted that the Buddhist philosophy had contributed to bring the world from darkness to light.
PM Oli further called for support from all including international community to develop Lumbini. He further committed to completing development as per the Lumbini Master Plan on time.
On another note, Prime Minister Oli shared that his government was moving ahead to materialize the slogan of ‘prosperous Nepal: happy Nepalis’ and added that such conferences help inspire the mission.
He also committed to working together with international community on the agenda of peace, harmony, justice and equality. Oli said that it was a matter of pride that Nepalis had peacefully changed the political course and promulgated a new constitution.
The Prime Minister said the incumbent government was formed following democratic process with a strong majority and mandate and hence people were looking forward to a happy and prosperous life ahead.
